Insightfull book 
Janet does a great job of outlining what you can do to improve your public speaking. One of the best ways to get over your fear is to simply do it! Toastmasters International is a great resource for this, and if you are in the San Diego area, a great local TM club is Career Builders: [ … ]

A must read to go from fearful to energized
There are lots of books that claim to have the solution for overcoming your fear of public speaking. Very few deliver on the claims the author makes. One book that over delivers is »In the Spotlight« by Janet Esposito. From first page to last the reader knows Janet walks her talk. What you will find in her book is not theory. She has »been there, done that.« »In The Spotlight« begins with a chapter on how the author had to walk through her own fear of public speaking. From there she gives the reader step by step solutions to go from fearful to energized. This book is a must read for anyone who wants to get to the other side of fear and shine as a public speaker. Loving the Spotlight! Thanks to Janet
I have a journalist background, and though I am quite comfortable writing words, standing up and speaking them in a crowd was a completely different story until I discovered Janet's book a few months ago. I was preparing for a professional speaking engagement and was terrified! As I read Janet's book, I began to calm down and see that I could pull this off by applying her techniques. I love how practical, compassionate, and de-mystifying (everybody has this fear!!) this book is as she gently coaches you along to be comfortable and confident speaking in public. I had a good time at my debut speaking engagement and am not intimidated to keep putting myself out there in the spotlight. Because I was impressed with the results I got from reading the book, I contacted Janet and recently interviewed her for a website I write for. Before buying the book, you might find it interesting to read more about her public speaking advice. [ … ]
